A microsite for the Nintendo Wii game New Super Mario Bros. within the Nintendo portal, including a roll out in seven different languages and the integration of a “Share on Facebook” function.

Implementation

As with the New Super Bros. for the DS, the version for the Wii is a multiplayer game. This fact is communicated via the microsite with the implementation of a colourful and welcoming look and feel, lots of videos, illustrations and a clear and simple navigation.

The site structure is similar to that of the game: various “Levels” with information about the game are presented to the user via horizontal scrolling. With the help of the game plan, the user can also jump directly to each section.

True games fans interact with the microsite by collecting coins which unlocks secret content. Hidden parts of the site can be unlocked by clicking on disguised entry elements. The user can share these discoveries with their friends via Facebook Connect, and invite them to visit the site with the Send to Friend function.

As well as online measures, Nintendo used print and other channels to advertise the New Super Mario Bros. Wii game.
