Mission

Concept creation and technical implementation of a multitouch technology prototype in the fashion segment for use at the point of sale.

Implementation

The user can control the multitouch application “Razorfashion” via a touch sensitive screen, which might be placed in the lobby of a retail store, for example.  This way, a user can put together the perfect outfit at the start of their shopping experience in order to try it on and purchase it at the store shown in the application.  The special feature of this application is the connection with users cell phones through tags which allow the outfit to be placed on the users mobile shopping list.  Additionally, the application is able to handle up to 32 simultaneous hand contacts and is therefore perfectly capable of servicing multiple users at the same time. The application runs on a special LCD technology based device called “dreaMTouch”.

Conclusion

The innovative application has broken new ground in interactive product demonstration. Razorfashion is based on the new Razorfish Touch Framework which is not only compatible with Microsoft Surface and Windows 7, but can be operated with any available hardware and therefore will be universally compatible in the long term.
