A tool for parents, for example, who want to give their children a Nintendo product, but don't know what's best, or what their kids like. Until now, online tools to help choose videogame presents hardly existed or were not available at all.
But, help is at hand with the Nintendo Gift Finder instrument. With its clear design and plenty of ingenuity, the tool makes it finding the right gift for console gaming fans child's play. The specific challenge behind this project was the target group, who were completely new territory for Nintendo: mainly non-gamers.
The Flash application offers two different entry points; that is, two different options for finding the best gift. In the "Ask Mario" mode, users get expert advice and recommendations directly from one of Nintendo's most famous characters. Mario guides them to the right item by asking them a series of questions.
Helpful product recommendations are also provided in the "Selection Mode". Browsing through the product portfolio is intuitive, and users can experience the individual games and game categories for themselves. Or modify selections with filters. They can also play around with controls, buttons and knobs to alter the settings for age, gender, product category, game genre and gaming preferences. All so that users can find the perfect product.
